My Schedule

This is the schedule I'd like to stick to. I'm not guaranteeing that it will actually happen.

Monday-Friday
5:00 Wake up
5:00-5:30 Read scriptures (stare at pages since I'm too tired to think yet)
5:30-6:00 Get ready
6:00-6:30 Clean house (dishes, kitchen, start Crock-Pot dinners, pick up stuff, do laundry)
6:30-7:00 Drive to work and check/write email
7:00-12:00 Work (5 hours)
12:00-1:00 Lunch
1:00-6:30 Work (5.5 hours)
6:30-7:00 Drive home
7:00-8:00 Eat dinner, play with kids, prepare tomorrow's clothes and lunch
8:00-8:30 Bedtime routine, including READING to kids
8:30 Bed

Friday - we get off work at 12:00, so I plan to only work a couple hours extra instead of working until 6:30. Friday afternoons are library day, and maybe I can start taking the kids somewhere every Friday - to the park or a museum, etc.

Saturday - sleep in until 7:00, go into work for a few hours, come home and run errands, shop for groceries, finish laundry, prepare food and clothes for next week, etc.

Sunday -
6:00 Wake up, get ready, eat breakfast, get kids ready, etc.
7:45 Leave for church
12:30 Get home from church
1:30-2:15 Pick up dh from after-church meetings
Afternoon/evening - Read literature, study scriptures, prepare church lessons/FHE lessons, write in journal, do scrapbooking, play with kids, try to NOT clean

Now, I just have to find time to fit in exercising, having a life, getting a real education, STUDYING the scriptures every day (not just staring at the words when I'm so tired I can hardly think), doing my Ultimate Femininity class, having friends, taking care of myself, etc.

Whoa...that schedule would kill me. Do you have to work those 12 hour days? I understand that it gives you a half-day on Friday, though. But add those Saturday hours and you are hitting a 60 hour week! EEEEK!!!

The only suggestion I have is to shift as much of the early morning stuff as you can to evening after the kids are in bed. I know first thing in the AM is supposed to be the time to study scripture, to start your day right. But I suspect you are fighting your own biological rhythm here. Your body wants to sleep in a bit later, stay up a bit later, does it not? Let it!

Well, our official work schedule is 7:30-5:30 M-Th and 8-12 on Friday. We're not supposed to even the hours out over the five days, although we're free to work late on Fridays. We're just not supposed to work less the other days.

In reality, I'll probably get to work by 7:00 only 2 days a week and by 7:30 on Friday, so that gives me 1.5 hours overtime. Then, if I work 1 hour late four days a week, I get 4 more hours. Add two hours on Saturday, and I'm only up to 7.5 hours overtime. The most I've EVER done in a two-week pay period is 14 hours. So my schedule is kind of just wishful thinking :-)

Our budget is based on 5 hours overtime per week, and we just added a $1000 police academy class for my dh. When my dh was out of work for 3 months, all our credit cards were maxed out, so we're crawling back out of that hole now. Plus the student-debt hole and the "thanks for the car loan, dh's mom" hole. And we don't even have a house yet.

Even if I get up at 10 am, I'm dead by 8 pm. So for me early to bed and early to rise is the way to go! I nearly always fall asleep when I nurse the baby to sleep, and even if I only snooze for 10-15 minutes, I can't even function the rest of the night. So I thnk the best solution is for us all (me and the kids) to go to bed at the same time!
